Brighton Elementary is uplinked to the International Space Station! Students had the opportunity to ask astronauts living on the ISS questions during this NASA educational downlink.

Students at Brighton Elementary School in Tipton County, Tennessee participated in STEM workshops (including our Astrobotany workshop) and then asked questions to astronauts onboard the International Space Station about space foods and growing plants in space. This program was part of NASA’s Educational Downlink program. To connect your students with astronauts aboard the space station for a live question-and-answer session about living and working in space, you can apply on the Downlink website. If you are a Title 1 school, you can also request assistance with your application from Art Technically by emailing team@arttechnically.org.

Astronauts Andy Morgensen and Jasmin Moghbeil answer student questions. They are floating in the ISS.

Astronauts Andy Morgensen and Jasmin Moghbeil answered the elementary schoolers questions, including “Can you eat pizza in space?”
