Art Technically Wins a $4,000 STEM Action Grant

“We’re incredibly excited for the Hello World program to come to Memphis thanks to this STEM action grant from Society for Science,” says Art Technically director, Lily K. Donaldson. “This program will give Memphis students an opportunity to explore journalism, STEM, STEAM, and the arts in a fun and welcoming environment.”
MEMPHIS, TN – THE MEMPHIS PARENT: Art Technically, a community-based STEM organization has been awarded a $4,000 STEM Action Grant by The Society for Science. Art Technically plans to use the $4,000 toward their Hello World student science journalism program. Memphis-area college students can apply to receive scholarships to work as science journalism mentors to middle and high school students. Two selected college-aged students will each receive $2,000 in scholarships for mentoring. The middle and high schoolers selected for the program will receive guidance and mentoring including student pitch sessions, guidance on how to write articles, and also how to submit articles for publishing. Students will also have the opportunity to publish their articles in Art Technically Blog, in addition to receiving editing support for their school papers.
4th-12th graders with their parents can apply to join the 2022-23 Hello World program on our application portal.
