Lily Donaldson, Director, Washington, DC
11 June 2019
Meet our Director and Workshop Leader based in Washington, DC.
Lily is a 19-year-old senior in the honors program at American University majoring in Computer Science. She is an AU Varsity Cheerleader, a theatrical lighting designer, and CS teaching assistant. She works in the Sensation, Perception, Reality, and Illusion (SPRI) lab, the Design and Build Lab (DaBL) under the DC NASA Space Grant Consortium, and for various organizations/companies on their website teams.
She is also a 2019 Student Trainee for the Department of Homeland Security. She enjoys volunteering with Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals and “Art Technically.” Lily went from a Title IX school in Memphis City Schools with abysmal STEM education to being an honors Computer Science student on scholarship at AU and she attributes a lot of that journey to the pathways that STEAM education opened for her in middle and high school (i.e. website design and management from student journalism, physics and engineering from technical theatre, digital music notation and mixing from scoring her piano pieces and backing tracks); it’s these pathways that she founded “Art Technically” on.
